Partying in Paris…

For those who know me well, they will be quite surprised that I went to this party – I am  not really the party type and I tend to shy away from any glamorous events.

But last night was an exception and when an invite turns up to the closing party at London Fashion Week, I knew I had to put my heels on and go join the action (and I was so pleased I did). It was really beautiful.

The party started at the Jeu de Paume and included a private gallery tour. The Jardin des Tuileries were lit by candle light – so beautiful and special.

The rooms were filled with gorgeous people, lots of models and artists plus press and designers – it was a really friendly crowd and I met so many lovely people.

I think I could get used to this!

London Fashion Week Paris – The Box

We are having such a great time in Paris this week. I was hoping to update you more but it has been so hectic. I was not so pleased with my booth location this year, to be honest but I never dwell on the negatives and always endeavour to make the most of any situation.

Time to get ready for the summer shoot.

It is such a beautiful time of the year. Seeing the flowers and blossom budding – I simply love it! But I think we are still going to need to wrap up warm for our collection photo shoot this month!

We are crossing our fingers and toes hoping for a glorious London day so we can go ahead and shoot the summer 2012 collection of handbags and jewellery, ready for our online launch later this month.

I have opted for an outdoor location for this season, which I am hoping will work out because, if it does, it will be very striking and very different from the last collection! I get very nervous before shoots but the nerves soon turn to excitement as I see the images coming together and as the scenes and moods come to life in front of me. It is very special.

I’ve added a photo above of the last shoot we did – it was such a great day. Helped by a wonderful team and stunning model too.

Pure Success

It has been a busy few days for us at the Pure London Show and I promise to update you more this week…. but I just wanted to share a photo of the Nadia Minkoff London booth.

We are thrilled with the reaction of guests and visitors so far, and so delighted to see our
bags featured on the catwalk.

I will show you photos of the catwalk as soon as I receive them as we are not allowed to take our own photos in there!

Nadia presents her London designs to Germany’s fashion industry

I had a really interesting and very valuable visit to Dusseldorf recently as a part of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) fashion mission. Nadia Minkoff London was one of 12 fashion brands at this superbly organised event and it has not only given me a great insight into the German market but also I gained many new contacts and hopefully potential new business partners!

It was a two-day fact finding trip to discover more about the German fashion market. The trip started with a visit to boutiques, shops and department stores in nearby Cologne, which gave us all a chance to look at the existing brands on offer and compare prices, styles and suitability of stores for our own range.

With knowledge from the local expert from the Consulate pinpointing key stores, this part of the trip was retail therapy with a difference, a valuable exercise enabling us to understand the German market both as a consumer and a brand.  In addition it allowed us all to determine where our own brand might fit, before the all important showcase of our products at the British Consul’s Residence in Dusseldorf on Thursday 27^th October.

The final part of the trip was the fashion showcase where we were introduced to 70 agents and distributors from across Germany.

It really was a superb event (and in a beautiful location at the British Consul’s residence) and I look forward to announcing some new customers in Germany!

I love Paris!

I had such a great time in Paris. I really do love this city. Of course I am always truly faithful to my beloved London but I had a great few days in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week. It helped enormously that the weather was divine and I got to spend some time out doors, including my early morning jogs before the show opened.

The show itself was a great success and I had a lot of positive meetings. Events like this are always hard work and it is a big investment for smaller brands like mine. But I strongly believe in being at these global events and being a visible part in this crazy but adorable industry.

I met with several new buyers and will soon be able to reveal some new locations for the Nadia Minkoff collections.

Getting ready for Paris!

It’s one fashion show after another at the moment!

Following a great week at London Fashion Week’s Regenerate Japan event in London’s Soho, I am now busy preparing for Paris this coming weekend.

I will be showing once again at the fabulous ever The Box, located at Pavillon Cambon, 46 rue Cambon, 75001 Paris with my SS2012 collection.

Getting organised for the shows takes so much time. Samples need to be chosen and ordered, displays need to be designed, and not to mention negotiating the actual spaces at the events. But it is all worth it and I love doing the shows.

I am very happy to say we have a great location at The Box this year. We are at stand C26.

I am really looking forward to meeting with some great clients and of course, always looking to meet some new ones too.

So, from London straight to Paris and then after that it is off to Germany – but that’s another story and I’ll update you on that soon!

London Fashion Week Opening Party

Well, we are in full swing at the London Fashion Week’s Regenerate Japan event at the Reading Rooms in Soho. I wanted to share some photos form the opening night. It is so beautiful here.
