Porcelain poppies at the Tower of London

Paul Cummins installation ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ is a powerful, moving and striking way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1.

A total of 888,246 porcelain poppies were ‘planted’ into the moat surrounding the Tower of London, with each flower representing a British military fatality from WWI.

Unveiled today, August 5th, the last poppy will be ‘planted’ on Nov 11th.
